Sara Francis
Sara Francis is a designer who uses fabric as a storytelling medium. She loved to sew and create from a young age. As she learned more about the history, she fell in love with how theater, film, and fashion, and are intertwined, and the figures who influenced them. Her favorite part of the design process is getting to sit down with the team to collaborate on the story everyone is trying to tell. She tries to make all of her shows feel a little multidimensional with designs and materials she chooses. While she loves working on all shows, her favorite type of show to design is ones with earthy and whimsical vibes.
Sara started designing for theatre in high school where she and her classmates would have to costume a cast on a $100 budget. Is there that she started to teach herself how to work on wigs. In 2024 she graduated Eckerd college with a double major in theater and environmental studies. At Eckerd, She got the opportunity to continue to develop her skills and learned hands-on how to work in a production team. She was blessed to have many of the student directors trust her to design their shows, as well as faculty and staff there to mentor and assist her.
